LMS Linking Directions: Cengage Learning – Brightspace D2L

In order to link your Cengage content to your Brightspace course, your system administrator must first enable Cengage as an LTI Tool Provider. Please confirm with your Brightspace system administrator that this has been done. If LMS integration is not possible for whatever reason, please work with your Cengage representative for set-up and delivery of course materials

> Open your Brightspace course
> Open the Course Builder Tool, under the content tab, click “Related Tools > Course Builder”

> Create a Module if you haven’t done so
> Drag the Cengage Learning icon from “Build Outline” to the course outline or click th icon to select the module location
> Enter a name for your module
> Optional: Enter a note for your students
> Optional: Enter dates if different than start/end dates in “Restrictions”

> Drag the Cengage Learning icon from “Add Content” to your module or click it and select your module
> If prompted, sign into your Cengage instructor account to link your Brightspace and Cengage accounts

> Select the textbook or product you want to use from the available course content
> To filter the list, type a search term
> To see specific product results (e.g. MindTap, Owlv2, etc.), click “Filter Results” and set “Filter By” to the appropriate product
> To filter the list by license type, click “Filter Results” and set the dropdown to “Student purchase Required” or "Inclusive Access”

> To select an item, click “Link to Course”
> If creating a new course, select “Create a new course” and complete the details for your course
> If linking an existing course, select “Link to an Existing Course or Section”
> Your unlinked course sections with no student enrollments for the selected titles are listed, select the course or section you want to link

> Click “Continue”
> If prompted, select whether to synchronize the overall course score or individual activity scores to the Brightspace gradebook. This option is not available for all courses
> Click “Continue” to confirm your choice. A link to the integrated Cengage course is added to your Brightspace
> Click the “Content” tab
> Click the link to your course. If prompted, read and accept the service agreement.
